Cultural Heritage Special Track
VINCI introduces a new Cultural Heritage Special Track this year to explore and advance the intersection of visual information communication and cultural heritage. This special track invites contributions that demonstrate how visual techniques, tools, and systems can be applied to safeguard, promote, study, and interact with cultural heritage, encompassing both tangible and intangible aspects. Technical papers, artistic works, and interactive systems or prototypes that contribute to the field of cultural heritage through innovative visual communication and interaction are welcomed.
We have three paper types in the special track: full papers, short papers, and posters.
The page limits are strict so please ensure that you meet the requirements:
- Full Papers: max. 8 pages (incl. references!)
- Short Papers: max. 4 pages + 1 extra page which contains ONLY references
- Posters: max. 2 pages (incl. references!)
- ACM also requires you to specify the CSS concepts in your paper. These can be found at: http://dl.acm.org/ccs.cfm
Topics for the Cultural Heritage Special Track Papers (including but not limited to):
- Information visualization and visual analytics for cultural heritage data
- Cognitive and perceptual studies in cultural heritage visualization
- Visualization for cultural heritage preservation
- Visual storytelling and representation of cultural narratives
- Immersive technologies (AR/VR/MR) for cultural heritage engagement
- Interactive visual interfaces for exploring cultural heritage
- Generative AI technologies in art, design, video, and film for cultural heritage
- Virtual reconstruction and simulation of tangible heritage sites
- Interactive techniques for documenting and archiving cultural heritage
- Interactive education technologies for cultural heritage
- Cross-cultural communication and visual interaction tools
- Community engagement via visual information systems for heritage
Accepted papers to this track will be published as part of the VINCI proceedings. Authors of selected accepted papers that demonstrate outstanding quality in the Cultural Heritage Special Track may be invited to submit extended versions of their work to prestigious journals in the field, including Visual Informatics (Elsevier) and Frontiers of Computer Science (Springer). Further rounds of review may be required by the editorial offices of these journals. This is a tentative plan, and further details will be released once it is finalized.

All submissions must be written in English and formatted according to the ACM Proceedings Template (using sigconf format/template double-column style)
